The fiber behind the feeling.

We didn't choose alpaca. Alpaca chose us.

ALPALOVE was born from a simple conviction: the most luxurious fiber in the world deserves to be known beyond the borders of Peru. We partner directly with small Peruvian producers who have worked with alpaca for generations — combining ancestral craft with modern design, from the Andes to your home.

Whether you're knitting with our baby alpaca yarn, sleeping under one of our duvets, or wrapping yourself in a throw — you're choosing something made with intention. Soft on your skin. Kind to the planet. Built to last.

Choosing ALPALOVE means choosing more than a product. It's a return to natural living — with all the warmth and none of the compromise.

Our commitment

Every piece we make starts with the same question: does this last? Does it feel good on the skin? Does the person who made it earn a fair wage.

From our Baby Alpaca yarns to our duvets and throws, every product is the result of a direct partnership with Peruvian artisan producers. No middlemen. No shortcuts. Just fiber, craft, and intention — from the Andes to your hands.

Slow fashion isn't a positioning for us. It's the only way we know how to work.

Our History

ALPALOVE started with a trip to Peru and a question that wouldn't go away: why isn't baby alpaca — one of the finest natural fibers in the world — better known outside South America?

The answer was access. So we built it. Today we work directly with a small network of family-run Peruvian manufacturers who have spent generations mastering alpaca textiles. Every duvet, throw, and skein of yarn you receive comes from their hands.

The team behind every piece. Arequipa, Peru.

Fair collaboration

Every producer we work with is a partner, not a supplier.
We operate under Fair Trade principles — transparent pricing, fair wages, and long-term relationships with the Peruvian artisan communities behind every piece.

Quality over quantity

Small batches. No excess inventory. Every Alpalove piece is made with the expectation that you'll still be using it years from now — because that's what truly sustainable production looks like.

Local Support, Global Vision

Peru makes it. The U.S. brings it to you. That's not a supply chain — it's a partnership that keeps craft alive on one end and makes it accessible on the other.

Transparency & Trust

We believe customers deserve to know where their products come from. Every Alpalove item carries a traceable origin and a story of integrity.

Purposeful Design

Our textiles combine functionality with feeling—high-quality alpaca bedding and throws created to bring natural warmth and beauty into your home.

ALPACAS

Who are they?

Alpacas are friendly animals that inhabit the Peruvian Andes above 3,500 meters, where
their fiber enables them to thrive in rugged climate conditions.

They have been part to Peruvian history since early Pre-Incan civilizations, playing a significant role in textiles and transportation during the Inca Empire.

Today, they remain crucial to the textile industry, which is the primary income source for
alpaca breeders. Peru is home to an estimated 3.5 million alpacas.

ALPACA FIBER

Alpaca fiber is renowned for its thermal properties and softness. These physical characteristics enable the production of versatile and durable products.
It is ideal for home goods due to its thermal properties, among others.

Each alpaca can yield approximately 2.5 to 4 kg of usable fiber per year, with about 40% of this fiber qualifying as Baby Alpaca.

why we love them?

Alpacas are gentle by nature and extraordinarily sustainable by instinct. They graze without destroying — soft hooves, modest water needs, and a coat that regrows year after year.

They also contribute to the sustainability of their environment by carefully tending to their land, minimizing soil disruption and requiring only modest amounts of water and pasture.

These animals come in nine pure colors, which can be blended to create an impressive palette of 22 natural yarn colors—the largest variety among natural fibers.

Additionally, their fiber has low lanolin content, reducing the water required for processing.

These qualities are just a few reasons why we adore them.

The fiber difference

What makes alpaca different

Gentle on sensitive skin

Baby alpaca contains no lanolin — the protein that makes wool itchy for millions of people. Even the most reactive skin wears it comfortably, all day long.

Warm in winter, cool in summer

Hollow alpaca fibers trap warmth without trapping heat. Your body stays at the right temperature — cozy on cold mornings, never overheated by afternoon.

A fiber that gives back

100% biodegradable, free from synthetic blends. Alpacas roam the high Peruvian Andes with a light footprint — your craft starts and ends with the earth.

IMPORTANT FACTS

PERFECT TEMPERATURE

The hollow structure of baby alpaca fiber regulates your body temperature naturally — no synthetic help needed.

Kind to sensitive skin

Unlike sheep's wool, baby alpaca contains virtually no lanolin — the protein behind most fiber allergies. Wear it directly on skin, without irritation.

Stays fresh, longer.

The natural keratin in alpaca fiber inhibits bacterial growth, which means your pieces stay fresher between washes — and last longer too.

Ethically sourced, always.

Every alpaca in our supply chain lives in its natural Andean habitat and is shorn humanely — one shearing per year, no stress, no harm.
