OUR REASON TO BE
ALPACAS

WHO THEY ARE?
Alpacas are friendly animals that inhabit the Peruvian Andes above 3,500 meters, where
their fiber enables them to thrive in rugged climate conditions.
They have been part to Peruvian history since early Pre-Incan civilizations, playing a significant role in textiles and transportation during the Inca Empire.
Today, they remain crucial to the textile industry, which is the primary income source for
alpaca breeders. Peru is home to an estimated 3.5 million alpacas.

ALPACA FIBER
Alpaca fiber is renowned for its thermal properties and softness. These physical characteristics enable the production of versatile and durable products.
It is ideal for home goods due to its thermal properties, among others.
Each alpaca can yield approximately 2.5 to 4 kg of usable fiber per year, with about 40% of this fiber qualifying as Baby Alpaca.

WHY WE LOVE THEM?
Alpacas are not only friendly and adorable animals but also convey a sense of peace and affection once you get to know them.
They also contribute to the sustainability of their environment by carefully tending to their land, minimizing soil disruption and requiring only modest amounts of water and pasture.
These animals come in nine pure colors, which can be blended to create an impressive palette of 22 natural yarn colors—the largest variety among natural fibers.
Additionally, their fiber has low lanolin content, reducing the water required for processing.
These qualities are just a few reasons why we adore them.
